FORTUNA (KIEM) – Fortuna
Fire Department welcomed its brand new fire truck into its fleet.
The new truck’s apparatus can go as tall as 110 feet in the
air. The new truck costs over $1.1 million. Through the department’s Thirty Year
Replacement Plan, the department’s been saving for its new gear over the last
Fortuna Fire Chief Lon Winburn says, this new truck will
help them better serve the community.
The old apparatus truck is 30-years old. Its new home will
be at Santa Rosa Junior College, where it will help the fire training program.
