Driver who wasn’t wearing seat belt dies in crash on 215 Freeway in Perris

A 71-year-old woman died in a crash on the 215 Freeway in Perris on Wednesday, May 15, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash was reported about 3:50 p.m. in the northbound 215 lanes north of Highway 74. The victim was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer in the right lane when she drifted onto the shoulder, the CHP said. The SUV rolled over and struck a chain link fence. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver’s name was not immediately publicly disclosed.
The CHP asks any witnesses to call the Temecula office at 951-506-2000.
