Castro Valley man arrested in child porn case, released on bond Monday

OAKLAND — A Castro Valley man is facing child pornography possession charges after a raid on his home related to a federal investigation into his internet browsing history.
Yui Lun Wu, also known as Roland Wu, faces a possible 20 years in prison if convicted of the charge. His apartment at 20317 Wisteria St. was raided after authorities received a tip in mid-April that Wu was downloading child porn onto his computer.
Wu downloaded child pornography regularly for days until April 20, when he left for a flight from San Francisco to Hong Kong, according to the criminal complaint against him.
On May 13, Wu returned to San Francisco International Airport and was promptly detained when he got off his flight. Authorities seized electronic devices in his possession and ultimately found 50 videos containing child porn, including one depicting a 12-year-old girl, the complaint says.
At his first court appearance Monday, Wu posted a $150,000 bond and was released. His next court date is June 5, according to court records.
The investigation was headed by Homeland Security Investigations, a branch of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
