The Bills sent the 28th pick in the first round to the Chiefs along with a fourth-round choice (No. 133) in return for the 32nd pick in the first round and a third-round pick (No. 95). SAN FRANCISCO — California Senate candidate Adam Schiff had to wear his hiking vest and casual attire to an upscale dinner party Thursday night after thieves stole his suitcase. The Burbank congressman’s dinner suit was among the items stolen when burglars broke into his car in a downtown San Francisco parking garage. (KFSN) — With the Fresno Grizzlies hosting San Jose this week, you’ll find Visalia native Nate Keavy down the line as the Giants’ first base coach. “A little bit of a throwback, so yeah, it’s great to come back,” he said. It’s his first time on the field as a coach in Downtown Fresno, but the Redwood High grad has been to Chukchansi Park before. “Growing up, coming to a bunch of games, seeing the homegrown guys come through here,” he said. A three-year varsity letter winner at Redwood, Keavy continued his baseball career as a catcher at Loyola Marymount, but an injury took away his entire senior season. “Thought I was going to be out of baseball and throughout my time at LMU, I got to meet a Giants scout,” he said. A month out of college, Keavy got some help from another South Valley native. DENVER — Former paramedic Jeremy Cooper has been sentenced to a four-year probationary sentence Friday after being found guilty of criminally negligent homicide in the final case connected to Elijah McClain’s 2019 death. Prosecutors accused the Aurora, Colorado, paramedic and his co-defendant Peter Cichuniec of administering an excessive amount of ketamine to sedate the 23-year-old McClain after an encounter with police on August 24, 2019. The NHL Draft Lottery, perhaps the biggest event on the San Jose Sharks’ calendar this year, will be held on May 7, the league announced Friday. The lottery will take place at the NHL Network’s studio in Secaucus, N.J., and will be broadcast in the U.S. on ESPN, and on Sportsnet and TVA Sports in Canada. The NHL said a specific time for the lottery will be announced next week. The lottery determines the selection order for the first 16 picks in the first round of this year’s draft. The teams in the lottery are the ones that did not qualify for the Stanley Cup playoffs or the teams that have acquired the first-round drafting positions of those non-playoff teams. The NHL uses a lottery to determine the first and second overall selections. A team can move up to 10 spots in the draft, so only the top 11 seeds are eligible to receive the first overall selection.
